Bio At A Glance:
My name is Venesha. I am a woman of God and a mother above all. I am also a professional writer. At present I am a 5X Literary Award winning author of two Urban Fiction novels, Mistress Me and Notorious. My third book, Mirror Mirror, which will be released in June will be my first Self-Help and Motivational book for women. In addition to writing books I also write articles for magazines, blogs, and other entities. I also write press releases and biographies for many of the elite in Urban Entertainment.
Prior to becoming a writer in 2006 I taught school for six years and enjoyed it beyond what words can describe. I value education. I was also the editor of a magazine for a short time and had the honor of writing the interview questions for our First Lady, Michelle Obama. I have interviewed everyone from mayors to hip-hop icons.
My stance as a blogger is simple-to give you a different spin on Urban Entertainment News. I actually started blogging part-time in 2008 as an additional feature to my website to keep readers coming back. And, the response was absolutely overwhelming. Although there were times I just didn’t feel like blogging because I was writing books and such, the tips and calls never stopped. My phone continued to ring and ring asking, “What’s up with the blog? We need you. You have a unique voice.” So, I thought about it and decided if I do it I have to go hard body and just do me. And, there you have it Lollipop News was born after two years of playing around.
My position is of a unique one to say the least. I know many many wonderful men and women who are the subject of many media outlets. Some, everyday and others once a week. So, due to friendships and associations some things I will not comment on or decide not to post. But, that is MY prerogative. I have committed to doing more on the literary side such as book reviews, author spotlights, and interviews. Please enjoy and feel free to leave your flavorful comments.
